A monochrome collagraph print inspired by the great Oak Tree. Includes an embossed quote that is designed to draw the viewer closer to read it. Titled 'The Other Half' it shows how far the roots spread further than the crown, the other half of the life giving tree that we don't see. Collagraph printing is a process of creating an image onto a printing plate, in this case a piece of mount board, by sticking various textures and materials to create an image that is then inked up and wiped back and finally printed. For this printing plate, it is inked up and it takes an average of 4 hours to wipe it back carefully. Paper is dampened and put through the press with the plate to create the print that you see on the paper. This process happens for each print. This is a small edition of 10.
