My work for this exhibition consists of prints using the printing techniques of collagraph. I like to use textures within my printmaking, which make this method ideal for the results I want to achieve. My interpretation of ‘order and chaos’ is a basic one, more to do with the methods I used to create the prints; ‘Chaos’ – is the construction of the collagraph plates using found items within the clutter (which I would consider my chaos) around me. It also represents the disordered application of ink on the monotype plates. ‘Order’ – is the cutting and rearrangement of the collagraph plates. I have tried to combine these two methods of application to produce work that have a sense of intended order along with a sense of freedom.
